ISO PC 278 is composed of thirty-seven (37) P-members (participating members), such as Brazil, nineteen (19) O-members (observing members), and the following external liaisons, some of whom have provided comments on the ISO DIS 37001 draft project:
The requirements of ISO 37001:2016 are generic and can be applicable to any organization, or part of an organization, regardless of type, size, and nature of activity, whether from the public, private, or non-profit sector. The main objective of the standard is to support organizations in combating bribery through a culture of integrity, transparency, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as the requirements defined by ISO 37001:2016 and the organization itself, through appropriate policies, procedures, and controls to address bribery-related risks.
Compliance with ISO 37001:2016 demonstrates to authorities, investors, shareholders, suppliers, employees, and society in general that the organization is genuinely committed to adopting effective controls, based on international standards, to combat bribery in all its forms.
