The International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) developed a set of aerospace industry consensus standards that establish quality management system requirements suitable for suppliers at all levels within the supply chain.
In the mid-1990s, the aerospace industry recognized that the international standard ISO 9001 did not meet the minimum requirements of the aerospace sector. Most first-tier organizations were adding additional requirements to ISO 9001 when communicating their quality management system expectations to their suppliers.
The AS 9100 standard was developed to unify these expectations globally. This reduced the variety of expectations for suppliers, resulted in quality improvement, and simultaneously reduced costs along the value chain. ISO 9001 was chosen as the base in response to industry expectations, allowing the industry to build a tested and approved quality management system and to leverage the supporting certification structure.
– AS9100: Quality Management System Requirements for the Design and/or Manufacture of Aerospace Products.
– AS9110: Quality Management System Requirements for Aerospace Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul Organizations.
– AS9120: Quality Management System Requirements for Aerospace Stockist Distributors.
If you want to be a supplier to many of the largest global companies in the aerospace industry, you need certification according to this standard because, for many of these companies, it is a contractual requirement. AS 9110 is designed for organizations in the aerospace maintenance sector, and AS 9120 is for stockist distributors in the aerospace industry.
Continuous Improvement Process:
Increase in error prevention and reinforcement of process reliability and capability within an organization in the value chain.
A high degree of customer satisfaction up to the end user, the buyer of related aerospace products.
Employee satisfaction.
Provides solid evidence that your management system complies with the exact requirements of the aerospace sector.
Ensures inclusion in the Online Aerospace Supplier Information System (OASIS) database.
The standard allows for standardization across the industry, which in turn enables increased trade and cooperation, encouraging growth and international sales.
Saves time.
Potential reduction in second-party system audits.
Ensures compliance with a system supported by regulatory authorities that helps mitigate your risks.
Enhances your brand reputation.
By demonstrating that you operate under globally accepted quality standards, using a common language to improve the understanding of quality requirements.
Reduces losses.
Helps demonstrate excellent levels of traceability throughout the production chain and remove uncertainties, encouraging customers to choose your company over a competitor.
Organizational and team assessments constitute a detailed observation of your organization or team through individual interviews. You help create the questions, and we use them in a confidential interview. We conduct the research with your participants regarding critical organizational and leadership issues. A summary report outlines strengths, weaknesses, and recommendations. The organizational assessment helps obtain a clear representation of existing strengths and areas for development, building participants’ confidence in the program and establishing an accurate and current reality to customize training and measure its success.
